What the games keep on your device

Your progress, streak, and settings stay in your browser's storage on your device. Clearing your browser data removes them. You play without an account.

What the games send us

To learn which puzzles people enjoy, the games send a short record of play: when a game opens, when a puzzle starts and finishes, the puzzle number, clues used, time played, a tap on share, your language, the game version, the time of each event, and where the link came from if it carries a tag. Each record carries a session ID and a random ID your browser creates the first time you play. We do not ask for your name, email, or an account. We do not store your IP address with these records.

Your choice

In the EU, the UK, and a few nearby countries, the game asks first and keeps nothing until you say yes. Everywhere, you can open Settings in any game and turn off the stats switch. The game then drops what it has not sent and stops sending. We rely on your consent where the law requires it, and otherwise on our interest in improving the games.

How long we keep it

We keep these records while a game is running and for up to 12 months after it closes, then delete them.

Who else handles it

Cloudflare hosts these sites and stores these records. Like any web host, it processes your IP address to deliver the pages. We do not sell this information.

Children

These games are made for a general audience and are not directed to children under 13.

Your rights and questions

You can ask to see or delete your records by writing to hello@riddlark.com. Our records carry only a random ID, so please include that ID, which Copy diagnostics in Settings shows. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
